Terms of Use
1. These terms
These terms apply when you use this website, join the ALT beta or use the ALT app for Mac, iPhone and iPad. ALT is made by Dmitrii Bugaev ("we", "us"). By using ALT, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use ALT.
2. Who can use ALT
You must be at least 13 years old to use the app and at least 16 to join the beta waitlist. If you use ALT for your employer, you confirm that you're allowed to accept these terms for it.
3. The beta
Beta versions of ALT are unfinished. Features can change or disappear, things can break, and data can be lost. Keep your own copy of anything important. We can end the beta or your access to it at any time.
If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve ALT without owing you anything for them.
4. Using the app
If you get ALT from the App Store, your use of the app is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the Standard EULA). If you test ALT through TestFlight, Apple's TestFlight terms apply as well. These terms add rules for the beta, the AI features and this website. Where they differ from Apple's agreement on how you may use the app, Apple's agreement wins.
5. Subscriptions
When paid plans are available, you buy them through Apple with your Apple Account:
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- A subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings at any time.
- If a plan comes with a free trial, any unused part of the trial ends when you buy a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
6. The AI features
ALT's AI suggests changes to your plan. Suggestions can be wrong or incomplete. Nothing changes until you press Apply, and you're responsible for reviewing what you apply. Don't rely on ALT for decisions where a mistake could cause serious harm.
When you use your own API key, your requests go to the AI provider you chose (Anthropic, OpenAI or OpenRouter), and that provider's terms also apply. You're responsible for your key and for the provider's charges.
7. Your content
Your tasks, projects, notes and plans belong to you. We don't claim any rights to them. ALT stores them on your device, so backups are your responsibility.
8. Acceptable use
Don't use ALT or this website to break the law, to harm others, to send spam, to sign up other people for the waitlist without their permission, or to interfere with how the service works.
9. Other services
ALT works with services we don't control, such as Apple's Calendar app and the calendar accounts in it, AI providers, and Claude or Codex on your Mac. Their own terms apply to them, and we're not responsible for them.
10. No warranty
ALT and this website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise that ALT will be error-free, always available, or right for your purpose.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or time. Our total liability for any claim about ALT is limited to the amount you paid us for ALT in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if you paid nothing.
12. Ending use
You can stop using ALT at any time. We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms. Sections 7, 10 and 11 continue to apply after that.
13. Changes and contact
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
